All DHAA memberships run annually from 1 July to 30 June. If you join or renew part was through the membership cycle then your membership fee will be pro-rated accordingly.

Full Membership

For dental hygienists, oral health therapists and dental therapists who hold a tertiary qualification in dental hygiene or oral health that is recognised by and registrable with the Dental Board of Australia.

Full members receive discounted prices to DHAA Ltd professional development, free Industrial Relations support, access to the members area of DHAA Ltd website, corporate offers and discounted rates to events run by our partner Associations. They also have the right to vote and serve on committees.

New Graduate Membership

For our newly graduated dental hygienists, oral health therapists and dental therapists who have completed their qualification within the past 12 months and are eligible for registration with the Dental Board of Australia.

New graduate members receive discounted prices to DHAA Ltd professional development, free Industrial Relations support, access to the members area of DHAA Ltd website, corporate offers and discounted rates to events run by our partner Associations. They also have the right to vote and serve on committees.

As our way of saying welcome to the industry, new graduate members receive a discounted membership fee of $50 and complementary indemnity insurance. New graduate membership is valid until the next scheduled renewal date.

Student Membership

If you are currently enrolled in or undertaking a tertiary qualification in dental hygiene or oral health that is recognised by and registrable with the Dental Board of Australia you may be eligible for student membership. Student membership to the DHAA is free with proof of enrolment (student ID card or acceptance letter). 

Student members receive discounted prices to DHAA Ltd professional development events where you can network and gain additional knowledge. You will have access to the members area of DHAA Ltd website, Industrial Relations support, and our member benefits program.

Every year the DHAA calls for a student representative from each university to join their state committee as a voice for their peers.

Affiliate Membership

For our retired members or non-practicing members, supporters including oral health educators, allied health practitioners, and other dental practitioners who aren't eligible for full membership. As well as subscribers such as employers, policy makers, industry representatives and others who would like to keep up to date with the industry and what our association is doing. 

Affiliate members receive our email communications, The Bulletin and discounted prices to DHAA Ltd events along with access to the members area of DHAA Ltd website and our member benefits programs. 

Affiliate membership is a reduced annual membership fee of $75 and is not eligible for our exclusive indemnity insurance.

Corporate Membership

Corporate membership is a way for organisations who support the objectives of the DHAA Ltd to partner with us.

Some of the benefits include receiving all DHAA member communications, company access to our member portal, co-hosting an annual DHAA webinar (broadcast nationally to members) and optional upgrades to Principal Corporate status by committing to an annual education plan with opportunities to support the DHAA CPD program at both a national and state levels. 

Suitability for corporate membership is determined via application and approval by our board of directors.

Awarded memberships

Life members

Life membership is awarded to members who have made significant and enduring contributions to DHAA Ltd. 

Life members are nominated by a board member for consideration and must receive a majority vote upon which they are awarded life membership to the association. 

Life members receive the same benefits and rights as full members and are not required to pay an annual membership fee. 

 

Honorary membership

Honorary membership are nominated by a member of the DHAA Ltd and approved by the CEO on delegated authority from the Board. 

Any of the following persons may be considered for an Honorary Membership:
· any person distinguished in oral health or allied sciences;
· any person who has rendered distinguished service to DHAA Ltd; or
· any person who, in the opinion of the Board may further advance the interests of the profession.

Honorary membership is free and is awarded for a period of 12 months. The recipient will receive DHAA communications and publications, member rates to DHAA events and access to our member benefits program.
