DHAA Member Insurance

DHAA is partnered with BMS to offer the DHAA Member Insurance program. The program offers a range of comprehensive insurance solutions to meet your professional needs, and provide you with peace of mind.

What cover is available to you?

Professional Indemnity (PI) Insurance
You may face situations where your patients look to hold you responsible for injuries they believe are due to your professional services. This is where Professional Indemnity (PI) insurance could step in. PI insurance protects you by ensuring that your legal defence is coordinated and paid for if a claim is made against you. Your PI insurance can also cover the cost of patient compensation or damages.

Additional cover

As a DHAA member, additional cover is available to you if you currently hold a Professional Indemnity policy with BMS.

This includes:

  • Public and Products Liability Insurance (can be added to your existing PI policy at any time)
  • Business Insurance
  • Entity Insurance
  • Cyber Liability Insurance
  • Personal Accident Insurance

DHAA Clinical Support Advisor

If you're facing a claim or are uncertain about interactions with a patient, not only will you have a comprehensive insurance policy to lean on but access to the DHAA Clinical Support Advisor. The advisor is available to assist you with clinical claims queries and offer peace of mind and support during times of uncertainty.

How do you apply?

As long as you hold a current DHAA membership you can get cover in minutes. Simply log in to the DHAA member portal and navigate to the ‘My Insurance’ section. You will need to register for an account in the BMS Portal to access cover or, if you already have cover, login to purchase additional policies.

As a student or first-year graduate member, Professional Indemnity cover under the DHAA Member Insurance program is complimentary with BMS. However, you will need to opt-in for cover. Please follow the above steps to apply for cover.

BMS will email all of your important insurance documents once your cover is confirmed. For more information, speak to a BMS broker at [email protected] or call 1800 940 762.

You must be a current Dental Hygienists Association of Australia (DHAA) member to be eligible for the DHAA Member Insurance program. If your membership ceases you will not be offered renewal when your policy expires. In arranging this insurance for our members DHAA is acting as a distributor of BMS Risk Solutions Pty Ltd (BMS) AFSL 461594, ABN 45161187980. This insurance is issued by BMS under binder with Certain Underwriters at Lloyds. When acting under a binder BMS acts as agent for the insurer and not as your agent.
