A unique experience awaits… Join the Kuku Yalanji Dreamtime Walk at Mossman Gorge, learning of dreamtime legends, bush tucker sources and traditional plant use. After arriving at Mossman Gorge, you will be treated to a guided rainforest walk along private, easy graded tracks, visiting special places and culturally significant sites, past traditional bark shelters and over cool rainforest streams.

Your experienced interpretive Indigenous guides demonstrate traditional plant use, identify bush tucker sources, share their dreamtime legends, explain the history of cave paintings and provide an enchanting narrative of the rainforest and their special relationships within this unique tropical environment. After your 1.5hr walk, enjoy tea, damper and question time with guide.

Kuranda, Skyrail & Scenic Rail

Journey through Heritage Listed Rainforest on this iconic Cairns tour. In the morning of your tour your driver will greet you, collect your voucher and issue your Kuranda Boarding Pass. You will then transfer to Skyrail Rainforest Cableway Smithfield, where you proceed directly to the boarding line – there is no need to queue as your Skyrail tickets are already on your boarding pass.

Once aboard, be amazed as you journey over and through protected rainforest. Your boarding pass is your ticket for this rainforest experience that includes time at both Red Peak and Barron Falls stations, both with spectacular lookouts. Or visit the Rainforest Interpretation Centre. Complimentary guided boardwalk tours are offered throughout the day at Red Peak Station.

Upon arrival in Kuranda, it’s time to explore this fascinating village. The Heritage Markets operate seven days-a-week and are full of colourful and interesting arts and crafts. You might also like to visit Birdworld, the Australian Butterfly Sanctuary or Kuranda Koala Gardens [at own expense]. Your Kuranda Boarding Pass also offers discounted entry into selected Kuranda attractions.

Ten minutes before your scheduled departure time, board the train and take your seats – your tickets are already on your boarding pass so there’s no need to check-in. After boarding the train, your journey winds through hand-hewn tunnels, across bridges and around curves, all the time appreciating what an amazing engineering feat it is.

Upon arrival at Freshwater Station, your coach will be waiting to transfer you to your accommodation. Your boarding pass will tell you which coach to look for.

This morning your driver will greet you, collect your voucher and issue your Kuranda Boarding Pass. We will then transfer you to Freshwater Station. There is no need to queue as your pre-allocated Train tickets are already on your Boarding Pass.

Once aboard, enjoy this historical rail journey to Kuranda, enjoying breathtaking views across the cane fields of Cairns, to the tropical rainforest of Kuranda.
Upon arrival in Kuranda, it’s time to explore this fascinating village. The Heritage Markets operate 7 days a week and are full of colourful and interesting arts and crafts. At the specified time, your shuttle coach will transfer you to Rainforestation, set in 40 hectares of lush gardens and tropical rainforest, where a number of unique attractions await you. Board the unusual amphibious Army Duck for a different look at the rainforest. Also included in your tour is the Koala & Wildlife Park. The shuttle bus will then take you back to Kuranda.

At the scheduled time, make your way directly to the Skyrail Rainforest Cableway boarding line – there is no need to queue as your tickets are already on your Boarding Pass. Enjoy your 7.5km journey over and through World Heritage protected Rainforest. Experience traditional Aboriginal and Torres Straight Island dance shows in the Cultural Dance Theatre and see first-hand the distinct differences between the two cultures. After being collected from your accommodation, take the scenic drive to Hartley’s Crocodile Adventures.

After arrival, there is plenty of free time to explore the park, including the unique eco experience of the Wetlands cruise through the ecologically significant Melaleuca wetlands; the domain of the saltwater crocodile.

Explore the rest of the park with its abundance of wildlife including water birds, turtles, wallabies and cassowaries. See the notorious head shake and death roll of a huge crocodile at the Crocodile Attack Show, also the opportunity to hold a crocodile for a photo (own expense).
