Senior Lecturer in Dentistry |
Dr Felicity Croker is a Senior Lecturer in Dentistry at James Cook University (JCU). She is passionate about developing competent clinicians for regional, rural and remote contexts.
Informed by over 30 years of clinical practice, teaching and research in regional, remote and disadvantaged communities within Australia and the Asia Pacific, Felicity is strongly committed to educating a socially accountable health workforce who can contribute effectively to low resource communities.
Dr Croker has applied a broad interprofessional focus to teaching and research roles across disciplinary boundaries while working with social sciences, Indigenous health, health sciences, public health, medicine and dentistry. Her JCU excellence awards reflect her commitment to interprofessional education and community engagement.
Working collaboratively with clinicians, community organisations and senior dental students, Felicity is leading two projects that focus on the Domestic violence – recognise respond and refer initiative and the Managing medical emergencies in the dental practice simulation training. These two projects which broaden and strengthen clinical capacity in dental graduates will be the focus of Felicity’s presentation.
