Our two most recent state events in South Australia – excluding the mighty DHAA National Symposium – were really well attended and feedback was great.
The June Dinner at Adelaide Oval is always a must-attend event in the CPD calendar, and this year was no different with over 130 hygienists and OHT’s enjoying a fabulous event with two great speakers. The evening began with the charismatic Dr Robert Karlinsey, via live streaming webinar from Indiana Nanotech. His presentation explored holistic and patient-focused clinical care perspectives and approaches. Following this was Ron Knevel, who provided a passionate, inspiring and thought provoking dive into who we are professionally, our role and the value we offer, and our responsibility to the community. Delegates left feeling inspired are ready to make a difference in the lives of their patients!
It was fantastic to see so many members enjoying the magnificent venue, food, wine and best of all the catching up with friends and colleagues. Congratulations to our door prize winners and to our fabulous sponsors 3M and City Dental. Thank you everyone who attended for making the night such a success!
Our pop-up destination event at McLaren Vale on 12 August was a hit and definitely something we will continue at other destinations. We were engaged and entertained by four speakers, starting with Gill Millar from the Cancer Council SA who discussed how we can help those with Cancer. Dr Sanjana Baksi followed up with an interesting look at the components of smile aesthetics. Our very own State Committee Chair, Lyn Carman, explored behavioural profiles, with a focus on how we make decisions. The day ended with a focus on the hygienists role in implants prosthodontics, presented by Dr Peter Hell Specialist Prosthodontist.
The day at McLaren Vale ended networking and socialising over dessert and wine tasting. One member commented that it was a “Good idea to get out of the city for an event. The venue was great, good location easily accessible, it was well organised & all speakers were excellent. A great day”.
