Find out more about the people making the decisions and calling the shots in the DHAA.
Every fortnight we ask various movers and shakers, in the association, a set of questions. This week we catch up with the DHAA Administration and Events Officer, Patricia Chan.
- What do you love most about the DHAA?
I love the DHAA as all the people I meet are very positive about their roles and how their work make a difference by promoting good oral health care. It is an amazing Association built by a legion of passionate founding members.
- What is your current role with the DHAA, and why you decided to get involved?
My current role is to assist with all the board meeting logistics and any other admin and events-related tasks as delegated by the board and the CEO.
The board members are volunteers and meet quarterly to continue the great work of the Association.
- Who is the person that most influenced you, and how?
Mother Teresa and her life devoted to bringing dignity to the poor and diseased on the streets of Calcutta.
The book, 'Something Beautiful for God' by Malcolm Muggeridge made a lasting impact on me when I first read it at 13.
- What are you currently reading?
Churchill: A study in Greatness by Geoffrey Best.
- Where do you go to escape?
On my balcony at home, overlooking the bush and watching the eastern and crimson rosellas and king parrots resting on the grevilleas and seeing the garden constantly evolving with a glass of red; and I say to myself, 'What a wonderful world.'
Keep an eye out for next time, when we will get to know another proud DHAA work-force.
