What a perfect summer’s day for our Focus, Food Festivale half-day CPD event at Hotel Grand Chancellor in Launceston on 3 February, 2018.
What a delight to have our CEO, Dr Melanie Hayes in attendance and presenting on dietary analysis and advice: reinforcing the importance of using a risk assessment tool, focusing on asking questions rather than dishing out the advice and helping patients understand that sugar is a key contributing factor but they aren’t all the same.
Associate Professor Catherine Snelling shared her expertise on interrogating radiographs, the importance of exposing high quality radiographs for our dental colleagues and recording what we see to monitor early signs. Delegates interacted practically analysing radiographs and have taken away refresher tips and hints to implement.
Some delegates treated their tastebuds at Festivale in the Launceston City Park, a perfect follow on from Dr Hayes presentation.
Festivale has been a fixture on the summer event calendar for over 30 years providing the opportunity for both locals and visitors to sample the wonderful produce, cool climate wines, beers, ciders and spirits Tasmania has to offer.
On behalf of DHAA Tasmania, we wish to extend our appreciation to the guest speakers for sharing with us with entertainment, enthusiasm and expertise. Additional thanks must be extended to Colgate for providing delegate samples.
