The DHAA has been listening to its members and has exciting news about how it’s enhancing member value that will be announced in the coming weeks.
For now, here’s a hint. The main addition is particularly relevant at this time of year, as many of us start to think about renewing our Professional Indemnity insurance (PI).
Meeting your obligations as a registered practitioner
As registered dental practitioners we all have obligations that we must meet in order to remain fully registered. Meeting these objectives is paramount to ensure the safety of your patients and to protect ourselves.
The Dental Board of Australia (DBA) has issued an overview of our obligations under the ‘Health Practitioner Regulation National Law’. All codes and policies can be found on the DBA website but particular attention is drawn to the areas of CPD, code of conduct, scope of practice and PI.
Professional Indemnity Insurance: You now have access to a more comprehensive PI Policy, at a significantly reduced rate, simply by being a member of the DHAA.
Every year when renewing your DBA registration (by November 30) you must confirm that you comply with Dental Board guidelines. The DBA overview highlights the registration standards and government guidelines relating to the codes and policies that you must follow to provide safe care to your patients. This includes the requirement to have adequate and up-to-date PI.
From June 30 2017, DHAA members will have access to an exclusive insurance arrangement, as well as a range of value-added services.
Full details will be announced next month.
