Jo graduated from the University of Queensland in 2004, having completed the Bachelor of Applied Health Science, Oral Health. She has since directed her attention to expanding her scope of practice, having completed add on courses in In-Office Whitening for Dental Hygienists & Therapists (UQ), Laser training for dental hygienists and oral health therapists (UQ), Stainless steel crown techniques for the primary dentition (UQ), Dentistry for 0-4 year olds (UQ), Orthodontics Principles for Dental Therapists and Hygienists Part 1 and Part 2 (UQ) and Orthodontics for Dental Hygienists and Dental Therapists (UoM). Jo is currently completing the Graduate Certificate in Dental Therapy – Advanced Clinical Practice (UoM).
Jo supports a comprehensive primary health care model using a multidisciplinary team approach to service delivery.
Jo has been a member of the DHAAQ and DHAA Inc since graduating. She became an active committee member in 2009, taking roles as Vice President and President over a period of 4 years. Jo became a National Councillor for the DHAA Inc in 2013 and a Board member of the DHAA Ltd in 2015. Jo is the current Vice President of the DHAA Ltd and represents Australia as a member of the IFDH House of Delegates.
