This unit included a placement at Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre, where Shae’s passion for managing patients with special needs arose. Since graduating, Shae has worked within the dental oncology unit as an oral health therapist, as well as in the private sector. Currently, Shae is working part time at Peter Mac, and is also studying a Master of Public Health. Shae’s role within the dental oncology unit is heavily focused on the prevention and management of treatment-induced side effects in the oral cavity. Since graduating, Shae has spoken at various conferences, including at the Australian Dental Congress in Adelaide in 2019.
