Join us for this face to face meeting looking at tobacco use, oral health and smoking cessation brief advice.

 

Synopsis:

This session will provide information on

  • Tobacco use and Health
  • Benefits of stopping smoking
  • Understanding tobacco use dependence
  • Impact of tobacco use and your patients' mouth health
  • Your role
  • Brief Advise (Ask, Advise, Help) as part of routine care
  • Stop Smoking medications
  • Quitline and other support available for patients Information and Resources

 

Event Times: 

Registration, drinks and canapes from 6:00pm
Presentation starts: 6:30pm
Event finish: 7:30pm

 

Speaker Biography:

Doris Neuwerth

Bachelor of Social Work (Hons)
Advanced Diploma in Psychoanalytic Psychotherapy
Cert 1V in Training and Assessment

Doris is the Cancer Council WA (CCWA) Make Smoke Smoking History Education & Training Coordinator. Doris coordinates and provides smoking cessation brief advice training to staff of community services, and health services. This is to ensure consistent best practice smoking cessation support between health and community services. Doris also provides smoking cessation Brief Advice training to Dental and Oral Health Therapist students from UWA and Curtin University.

Non Members: $50
