Join us for a 1 hour online webinar exploring the roles and responsibilities of clinicians in an orthodontic practice, work relationships between team members as well as training and support to purse a career in orthodontics

 

With increasing demand of OHTs and Dental Hygienists in orthodontic practices, this webinar will delve into the roles and responsibilities of OHTs/Dental Hygienists and how to foster a career in orthodontics. 

Topics to be covered include:

  • The roles and responsibilities of Dental Hygienists/OHTs in an orthodontic practice
  • The composition of the dental team and the work relationship amongst team members
  • Training and support available/required for Dental Hygienists/OHTs in pursuit of an orthodontic career  

 

About our speakers: 

 

Cheryl Dey
Dental Hygienist

Cheryl has been a member of the DHAA and involved in various committees since 2007. She became involved in the DHAA SA executive after graduating, taking the role of State Treasurer from 2007 to 2009. In 2012 she took on a mentee role under the National Treasurer, taking over the role formally in 2012 before stepping up as National President from 2019 to 2021.

Cheryl has been heavily involved in the Restructure Task Force since its inception, taking on the role of Chair in 2014. Cheryl is passionate about furthering the position of the DHAA as the peak professional body representing Dental Hygienists and Oral Health Therapists. She firmly believes that the members deserve a strong Association to provide leadership, advocacy, education and mentoring. Cheryl currently works full time in a private orthodontic practice; primarily in Adelaide, and commutes to Melbourne twice a month.

 

Dr Seerone Anandarajah
BDS, BSC HONS (ADEL), DCLINDENT (ORTH)

Dr Seerone is a Registered Orthodontic Specialist with the Dental Board of Australia and has achieved Australasian Orthodontic Board (AOB) Certification. He holds professional memberships in several organisations and mentors undergraduate students in the area of Orthodontics at the University of Adelaide. He also enjoys keeping up to date with the latest techniques and innovations in orthodontics, and prides himself in not only being able to provide high quality treatment to his patients, but also making the journey to a wonderful smile as enjoyable as possible.

DHAA Members: Webinar registration is free for all categories of DHAA membership. 
Non members: registration is available for non members at a cost of $40 per attendee.
