Associate Professor Sam Kosari
B.Pharm(Hon), PhD
Sam Kosari is an Associate Professor of Pharmacy and the course convener for the Master of Pharmacy at the University of Canberra. Sam worked as a postdoctoral research fellow at the University of Melbourne and moved to the University of Canberra in 2015. Sam is a registered pharmacist with medication review accreditation and has been involved in different aspects of pharmacy practice including community pharmacy, managing, aged care services, locum, pharmacotherapy, and medication review.
Dr Hugh Lenehan
B.Dent(Hon), B.MedSc, D.CliniDent
Dr Hugh graduated from Sydney University as a general dentist before perusing further studies in the field of periodontics. He has been working in Canberra as a periodontist since 2017 and currently works in private practice at a specialist periodontics and dental implant clinic. His special interests include gingival grafting and implant technologies.
Dr Ragu Krishnamoorthy
MBBS, BDSc, PGDipSurgAnat, FRACDS
Dr Ragu Krishnamoorthy is an oral and maxillofacial surgeon, specialising in treating a wide range of conditions of the mouth, face, teeth and jaws. He has extensive training and highly specialised skills in oral surgery, having qualified as a surgeon, a doctor, and a dentist. He has extensive experience in all aspects of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, particularly concentrating and consolidating his skills in orthognathic, facial trauma reconstruction, all aspects of dentoalveolar and implant surgery. He obtained his dental degree at University of Queensland, and subsequently completed his medical degree at Australian National University. He was selected into the surgical training program and trained in various tertiary hospitals all over Australia.

It is well known that oral health in aged care is a challenging area that has been neglected, impacting on the nutrition, mental health, quality of life and exacerbating many chronic medical conditions and pain. The older population often take many medications for both chronic and acute conditions that may impact on their oral health. This presentation outlines issues and practical tips for oral health practitioners and pharmacists to collaborate to support the older population.

Temporomandibular Joint Disorders - Dr Ragu Krishnamoorthy
TMJ disorders are common chief complaints of patients during routine examinations. This program will delve into what causes TMJ disorders, management of the disorder, definition, epidemiology and classification. We will also revise TMJ examination, myofascial pain, history/exam features and anatomy.
