This webinar presented by Dr Sahani Gunathilake will delve in to Australia's ageing population, the demand for health resources and need for a workforce skilled in geriatric dentistry.

  • Barriers to provision of oral health care to the elderly in Australia 
  • Applying key preventive and minimally invasive restorative techniques for managing dental problems in elderly patients 

 

About our speaker:

Dr Sahani Gunathilake

B.Sc, BDS, Doctor of Clinical Dentistry (Special Needs Dentistry)

Dr Sahani Gunathilake completed her BDS from the University of Adelaide in 2012. She completed the Doctor of Clinical Dentistry in Special Needs Dentistry in 2020 at the University of Melbourne and is currently working for SA Dental in Adelaide where she treats a range of patients with special needs. She has worked with patients in residential aged care settings in both the private and public sectors and has worked closely with the University of Melbourne for the Graduate Certificate in Dental Therapy (Advanced Clinical Practice) program where she co-ordinated the SND component.

DHAA Members: Webinar registration is free for all categories of DHAA membership. 
Non members: registration is available for non members at a cost of $40 per attendee.
