RACF manager Simone Fuller will discuss innovative ways in improving nutritional status, reducing waste and enhancing food choice in aged care.  She will also provide management insights and practical tips for oral health practitioners working in RACFs, staff training approaches, making residents and their family the centre of care planning. 

 

About our speaker

 

Simone Fuller is the Manager of Aged Care Services at Coolamon Shire Council, a local government organisation in New South Wales, Australia. She oversees the delivery of quality care and support for the elderly residents of Coolamon and its surrounding areas. She has over 30 years of experience in the health and education sectors, having worked as the Registered Training Organisation Manager at Charles Sturt University, and as Business Services Manager for 10 years at NSW Department of Primary Industries in Adult Education. She holds a Bachelor of Education from the University of Western Sydney, Hawkesbury and a Certificate four in Workplace Training and Assessment. Simone is passionate about improving the well-being and dignity of older people and promoting the importance of nutrition and hydration in healthy ageing. She is also involved in various Communities of Practice which aim to promote the important work of providing aged care to our most vulnerable. Simone lives in Coolamon with her husband. In her spare time, she enjoys attending festivals, exhibitions, gardening and travel.

This webinar is exclusively open to members of the DHAA Aged Care Chapter.

The Aged Care Chapter provides ongoing support to members who either are already providing aged care services, or wish to develop a future career in aged care. The four pillars of the Chapter include Initial education program, practice tools and resources, business development and marketing support, and continuing education. The optional education program is an eight module self directed learning program that provides aged care specific knowledge and skills to build confidence and competence for members.
