Orthodontics & Lingual Braces - Dr Nour Tarraf

This presentation will cover:
  • To identify challenges presented by treatment with lingual braces.
  • To learn how digital solutions are providing greater flexibility.
  • To develop an individualized tailored plan for oral care at home, for cleaning teeth with Lingual Braces.

About Dr Nour Tarraf

Dr. Tarraf is a leading Sydney-based orthodontist with a particular interest in invisible appliances, including lingual braces such as Incognito and Invisalign. He is the only Australian member of the European Society of Lingual Orthodontics and the World Society of Lingual Orthodontics. Dr. Tarraf is also a pioneer in the use of Temporary Anchorage Devices (TADs) and is doing a part-time PhD at the University of Sydney on the applications of TADs in the management of upper jaw deficiency in growing children. He regularly teaches at the Long Ortho Course as part of the University of Sydney's program for continuing professional development for general dentists. In addition to his professional accomplishments, Dr. Tarraf is an avid triathlete and golfer who enjoys spending time with his family.

Clear Aligner Therapy - Dr Steve Moate

This presentation will cover:
  • Updates on the practical and theoretical side of clear aligners.
  • The role of the OHT and Clear aligner treatment the future.

About Dr Steve Moate

I am a firm believer in further education and regularly attend conferences to stay at the forefront of modern orthodontics. I have a passion for digital orthodontics, and use technology as much as I can to assist in treatment planning. I have been President of the NSW Australian Society of Orthodontics (2016-2018). I am a Clinical Associate at the University of Sydney.

I lecture frequently at orthodontic and dental meetings on digital orthodontics, including Clear Aligner Treatment, Lightforce, Insignia and Dental Monitoring.

Career highlights:

  • Graduated from Sydney University in 1992 with an Honours Degree in Dentistry. Private Practice in General Dentistry. 1993-1995
  • Orange, NSW, Public health in General Dentistry 1996 Arnhem Land, serving the Indigenous community
  • Private practice in general dentist. 1997-1999 in Pymble
  • Fellowship at the Royal Australian College of Dental Surgeons.
  • Graduated from Sydney University, Masters of Dental Science, and a specialisation in orthodontics. 2001
  • Fellow of the International College of Dentists
  • Private Practice in Orthodontics, Balgowlah since 2002

  • DHAA Event Regulations

    • DHAA Members - To obtain the discounted DHAA Ltd Membership price you are required to be a financial member of the DHAA Ltd at the time of the event.

      Student Members - Student Members must be an eligible and current student member of the DHAA Ltd at the time of the event Student Membership expires June 30th following your graduation. Student Membership to the DHAA Ltd is Free.

      ADOHTA Members - All ADOHTA members are required to show proof of membership to ADOHTA. You are required to be a current member at the time of the event to either DHAA Ltd or ADOHTA inc. To access the discounted price please create an account and email proof of current membership to [email protected]. We will update your account to display the correct registration price for the duration of the membership period displayed in your proof of membership.

      Dietary Requirements - We will attempt to accommodate all dietary requirements. Please ensure you specify any dietary restrictions when registering and at least seven (7) days prior to the event so we can notify the event catering team. 

      Photography Policy - The DHAA reserve the right to take photographs and videos for publicity, illustration, advertising, web content and reports on events and symposia. These images will not be shared directly with any other business without prior consent. If you would prefer your image NOT be used, then please notify us in advance, in writing, of the event that you are attending to [email protected]

      Event Cancellation Policy

      If you are cancelling your registration to attend an event please contact us at [email protected]

      If notification is received:

      More than 5 working days before the event:

      - A partial refund less a cancellation fee of 10% of the registration fee will be given.

      Less than 5 working days before the event:

      - Event registration fees will not be refunded 5 working days from the event as catering will have been finalised and therefore incurred non-refundable costs to the DHAA.

      Alternatively, the event registration may be transferred to another person of the same DHAA membership status up to 24 hours prior to the event - please contact [email protected] to arrange a transfer.

      Non Attendance
      If a registered attendee fails to attend an event for which they have registered, the event registration fees will not be refunded.

      COVID-safe and booking with confidence
      We know that the world has changed and there is always going to be uncertainty around events in the age of a pandemic, so here is our approach to making this work:

      - The event will be fully COVID-safe and compliant above and beyond any basic government health requirements to do what we reasonably can to protect your health and safety and that of all attendees. That will include appropriate social distancing and other measures.
      - COVID event cancellation: if the event is cancelled or has to be moved due to COVID issues, we will offer you a full refund. - If you’re unwell please contact us at [email protected] for assistance.
