The DHAA have agreed policies and goals that control the behaviour of the association at all times. These policies exist to ensure that procedures are followed predictably, and in the best interests of the association and it’s members.

Refund and Cancellation Policy

DHAA Membership subscription

A standard cooling off period of 14 days applies with no penalty or loss of premium paid.

DHAA Membership is an annual subscription purchase and is non-refundable after the cooling off period has expired.

DHAA insurance subscription

A standard cooling off period of 14 days applies with no penalty or loss of premium paid.

The date of refund will be applied from the 1st day of the following month the request was made (eg - refund request made on 5th June – refund will be applied from 1st July)

PI Insurance refund amount will be according to the current reference table supplied by Insurer. Please contact our Membership Officer ([email protected]) to discuss the refund amount at the time of cancellation as associated stamp duty fees for insurance varies by state/ territory.

Event Cancellation

If you are cancelling your registration to attend an event please contact us at [email protected]

If notification is received:

More than 5 working days before the event:

- A partial refund less a cancellation fee of 10% of the registration fee will be given.

Less than 5 working days before the event:

- Event registration fees will not be refunded 5 working days from the event as catering will have been finalised and therefore incurred non-refundable costs to the DHAA.

Alternatively, the event registration may be transferred to another person of the same DHAA membership status up to 24 hours prior to the event - please contact [email protected] to arrange a transfer.


Non Attendance

If a registered attendee fails to attend an event for which they have registered, the event registration fees will not be refunded.


COVID-safe and booking with confidence

We know that the world has changed and there is always going to be uncertainty around events in the age of a pandemic, so here is our approach to making this work:

  • The event will be fully COVID-safe and compliant above and beyond any basic government health requirements to do what we reasonably can to protect your health and safety and that of all attendees. That will include appropriate social distancing and other measures.
  • COVID event cancellation: if the event is cancelled or has to be moved due to COVID issues, we will offer you a full refund.
